Here comes My Engström Renman!

Another strong voice has emerged in Sweden and it belongs to the singer My Engström Renman. Her debut CD - Abdominous - features an 11 piece band consisting of extremely talented young jazz musicians from Stockholm and Göteborg: Salem al Fakir, Mats Eriksson, Joona Toivanen, Magnus Bergström, Mårten Magnefors, Jon Fält, Fredrik Håkansson, Henrik Jonsson, Kalle Ekström and Fredrik Lindborg.

My has composed and arranged pieces for her band, gathering inspiration from the Beatles, Henry Mancini, John Barry, Dr. John, New Orleans, and the 70s style of Joe Cocker. The effect she’s going for is a massive groove with finesse and humor. And that’s just what this CD has to offer. The recording session at Studio Bunkern in Göteborg was a blast, and it shows. This is a record that will get you moving!
